As we know, walking has several positive benefits and releases endorphins to boost motivation, self-esteem, and overall energy. Last month, 140 members across our sites stepped out for a break as part of WorkWell’s annual Wellness Walk, to support the opening of our grounds and promote wellbeing in the workplace which we factor into our workspace solutions. This pre-planned event was also to support Leeds Mind charity.
The initial idea for the event was to show members what’s available on the doorstep of their offices and something they can make use of at any time. The walk was hosted over lunchtime to encourage members to take a break from their desks and explore the fields and rural grounds, while looking out for the wildlife on route, from calves to bluebells and if lucky, some Red Kites. Despite the brief downpour of rain, members completed their walks and were greeted by ‘Grazing Cups’, a savoury lunch snack, from local company, The Grazing Guys.
With the extended Queen’s Jubilee weekend, we hope all our members decided to hit the pause button. This four-day break was the perfect example of recharging, putting your wellbeing first, making the most of some time outdoors, and catching up with loved ones.
