This November, our WorkWell members gathered to celebrate Bonfire Night in traditional fashion, watching an amazing firework display whilst feasting on Wilsons’ delicious pies in the comfort of Carrwood Park.
Described as one of our best yet, we were pleased to welcome over 300 guests, including members from both Carrwood Park and Brookfield Park, along with their loved ones, for an evening of celebrations.
Our bonfire night festivities remain one of the most popular events amongst our members, and this year was no different, as described by Jody Hirst from CappKind: “A great event, and the food was tasty as usual.”
In addition to bringing everyone together and encouraging a community atmosphere, the event was a perfect excuse to strengthen positive working relationships, known to help attract and retain successful teams.
Team building activities, such as our annual Wellness Walk, not only strengthen trust and mitigate conflict but also encourage communication and collaboration. These, in turn, help to engage employees which can boost company culture and improve team performance.
Many members, including Gavin Ellis from Far’n’Beyond, enjoyed bringing their family members to the bonfire, helping to bridge the gap between home and work life.
Our celebrations began with complimentary drinks and refreshments served by our team and catering partners, Wilsons Pies. Guests from Aqumen Recruitment, PLLG, NHS Supply Chain, Vercity, and Clever Accounts enjoyed tucking into steak bakes, pork pies, cheese and onion rolls, mushy peas, and tiffin, all while the firework extravaganza took place.
Competing to win a bottle of champagne, members shared their favourite pictures from the night on our newly launched WorkWell Together: Member Hub. Capturing an incredible image of a bursting firework in the night sky, Lauren Bradley from NHS Supply Chain was crowned the winner and received a special bottle of bubbly.
We’d like to thank everyone who joined us and give a special thanks to our WorkWell staff who brought the bonfire event to life – we already can’t wait for next year!
